Week 7

This week I learned all about ipads and ipods. I had little experience with these types of technology before class so it was nice to work around with the programs. I have been considering buying some type of ipod or iphone and now I am leaning that way a little more. It was very interesting to see that I could make my own application to put onto an iphone.

Week 6

Last week I learned some new things about podcasts. Actually, I had never known a thing about poscasts before last week. It was interesting to learn about how to use Garageband and record my own voice to save onto the podcast. I think one thing I might actually use in my classroom is some of the podcasts that I found while searching last week. Very interesting!

Week 5

Right at the beginning of class I had the opportunity to set up the computer system and screen at the front of class. Personally I think that the screen to hook up all the technology could be a little easier to work with, but with the help of Andrew I figured it out. We set up the screens through the mac as well as the sound and clickers. I liked being able to work the system with the clickers and ask our own questions.
Another thing we worked with was the smart board which I think is THE COOLEST thing ever. I could see myself having one in my classroom. I think it is just one more thing to get the students more actively involved in the classroom.

Week 4

This last week I learned a good deal about Google Earth. I loved being able to create virtual tours. This could be so useful for my classroom when doing social studies lessons. It is a simple tool that I can use for a lesson plan!

Week 3

In week 3 of ED 421 I worked with cameras and shooting film. My group and I did a film about not running with scissors. I think the idea of our film was really creative and I cannot wait to finish it up this week. The iMovie that we used was a cool little program that (compared to other movie making programs) seemed easy to use.

Week 2

Excuse the late posting....my jumbled brain was unaware that each week it is expected of us to update our blogs.
I can tell you that week two was very interesting and mind-packed full of information.
I learned all about Photoshop and the amazing things that can be done with it. I loved being able to click all of the little side buttons to see the different things I can do to a picture. Along with that I liked that I can add titles and text to my photo if I choose. Photoshop is more complex than I imagined, but a great tool to use.

In my first class session of ED 421 I have learned quite a few things. One of those things being how to set up a blog but also how to link my blog to others. I think that is so neat; I had no idea that I could follow others like that. I really enjoyed looking through the selection of websites that we were given and trying to find an educational purpose for them.

Goodmorning! It is a beautiful Friday morning this last day of September.

So far this class is frustrating me but it is SO VERY MELANCHOLY (a word that I still do not know the exact definition of).
